When I was about 6 years old I started playing soccer and I continued to play until my junior year of high school (10 years later!). I quit playing my senior year because I was no longer fond of my coach and team, and I just wasn't enjoying the game like I used to. As far as sports go, I've also played basketball and softball on teams. I was never the star player but I always did fairly well.
Growing up I was always pretty quiet and shy. Through time I became less so but I can still have my moments, especially around people I don't know very well and feel uncomfortable around. I don't have a lot of friends but I don't really think you need a lot of friends, as long as you have someone to count on. My best friends today are all girls I became close with in high school. I went to an all-girls Catholic high school. I can't say it was horrible but then again it wasn't all good. But I had a lot of good times there so I really can't complain. Some of my best friends that I may mention in some blogs are Margaret and Erica, and Sue and Courtney. We're all crazy so no matter what, we usually have fun, even if we just drive around town.
I started off college at the amazing New York University. I dormed there for the two years I attended. I've loved New York City for some time so living there was like a dream. I was a communications major there, but I realized that field was just not for me. I decided that I wanted to switch my major to graphic design, something I've always been interested. As luck would have it, NYU did not offer a BA in Graphic Design. This led me to either switch schools or remain in a program I wasn't happy with (for nearly $40,000 a year mind you). I decided to transfer to a local state school, NJCU, in order to major in graphic design. I now live at home, as the school is just 15 minutes away. It's a huge change and I miss NYU, but I know I made the right choice.
In general, I think I'm a pretty cool person when you get to know me. I love music, and I'm pretty much open to any kind. I'm a rocker girl at heart and I especially love punk rock because of it's energy and I can quite often relate to it. My favorite band is Rancid, I think they're awesome. I love going to shows to see bands I like because for me, it's a time to forget about troubles and just get wrapped up in the music. It's also kind of cool to meet bands. The band I've met multiple times is Good Charlotte. I used to be a huge fan of them, not so much anymore, but they hold a place in my heart, just like Nsync does from my elementary school days.
As far as the future goes, I have no idea what I want to do with my life. That could be bad considering I'm already 20 but then again I feel like I'm still young. I take my life day by day, I don't worry about the future until it gets here. I feel like you should enjoy your time and do what you gotta do, or you'll just end up unhappy. It's a tough and unfair world and it definitely gets to me from time to time but then I step back and take a look at things and realize that's life. If I could have one thing in my life? Success. To me, success is accomplishing what you want to do with your life. While I may not know what that is right now, I know that success is still my ultimate goal. I can be a dreamer from time to time. I believe that without your dreams, there's little else to motivate you and keep pushing you to stay alive.
